New Boiler in South shields

A boiler over 12 to 15 years old is usually past its best. Parts wear, efficiency drops, and the risk of an untimely failure rises just when a South Shields move is already busy enough. In older streets around Westoe and Ocean Road, that age profile often overlaps with tired pipework, old controls and radiators that never quite heat evenly.

New condensing boilers are built to work at 90%+ efficiency, which is a very different picture from the older non-condensing units still found in many pre-1980s homes near Riverside and the town centre. Warranty length gives a useful clue too. A 5-year cover on Ideal or Baxi is standard, Vaillant often sits in the 7 to 10 year range, and Worcester Bosch or Viessmann can reach 10 to 12 years on selected models.

The warning signs are rarely subtle. Pressure keeps falling, taps run hot then cold, the boiler bangs or whines, or the display throws up the same fault code after every reset. Around South Shields, where coastal weather and older housing stock meet, we also see stained flue terminals, sluggish heating in upstairs rooms, and systems that struggle after a long period of disuse between tenancies or completions.
