From Lochmaddy take the A867 to Clachan. Turn left and follow the A865 for approximately 31 miles, then take the B888 for approximately 3.2 miles until you reach the signpost for Garrynamonie on the right-hand side. Take this turn and the plot is 50 metres along on your right. South Uist can be reached by ferry from Oban via Lochboisdale or from Uig on Skye to Lochmaddy or by the smaller ferry which weaves its way through the small islets of the Sound of Harris between Leverburgh on Harris to Berneray, connected by (non-tidal all-weather) causeways via Benbecula to South Uist and from the Barra ferry in Eriskay.
